Síagro on live at the CCDE
From January 24 to 28, the Research Congress on Applied Data Science and the II National Congress of R Users Group were held. The event was organized by the Faculty of Sciences of the National Polytechnic School, with the collaboration of the College of Data Scientists of Ecuador (CCDE), R-Users Group-Ecuador, and the Ecuadorian Statistics Society (SEE). Attendants were able to enjoy several presentations by industry experts. Among them, we want to highlight the participation of Emilio López Cano, PhD in Statistics, Professor at the Rey Juan Carlos University, and collaborator in Tests and Trials, among many other merits.
The event aims to connect students, professors, businesses, and other institutions in order to share and disseminate mathematical methods applied to various areas in Data Sciences. Furthermore, there were many presentations of real-world projects that emerged by using the R programming language.
Topic: “The R Community as a generator of synergies between Academia and Industry” at the CCDE
Emilio presented two conferences under this topic, where he had the opportunity to present Siagro, the software for process control and data-driven decisions. The application was developed in R language (therefore it is a Shiny Application) by Tests and Trials with the very close collaboration of Emilio.
“It is the project that motivates me the most and of which I am most proud of”
Attendees could see the performance of Síagro on live and had a clear explanation by Emilio of its use in the primary sector. The speaker showed the speed and simplicity with which users obtain typical graphs of exploratory data analysis (histograms, boxplots to detect outliers, …) and SPC (Statistical Process Control) analysis. Likewise, it was demonstrated the versatility of the program to analyze any type of data and transform it into information: any parameter that can be a variable can end up in a report with reliable and useful information for the decision-making process.
¡Thank you, Emilio!
